First-Year Undergraduates at UCLA To Study the LA River This Fall

Posted on July 01, 2020

First-year undergraduates enrolled in California DNA: Field Course will be one of the first to explore our partners' shared datasets to get a better understanding of the river's biodiversity! Students will explore the wide range of ecological research with a focus on eDNA work along the LA River. Due to the pandemic halting in-person events and courses, field trips will be held remotely. Teaching materials including lectures, guest speakers, videos, and livestreamed field trips will be accessible on the Protecting our River website for all to access. Community scientists are invited to follow along the course and understand how current research by UCLA and our partners are helping us get a better understanding of the LA River's biodiversity.
